Russian Silver Kopek & Green Amethyst Necklace
Great Coins From an Historic Rule
This gold neckalce is adorned with silver kopeks from the time of Peter the Great. A green amethyst is wrapped in gold wire and then placed in between each kopek. The coins from Peter the Great were struck crudely and then clipped with shears to obtain the proper weight. This process results in an entirely unique coin and gemstone necklace that will last through the ages.
History of the coins:
Struck sometime in the late 17th century, the kopek is a small breakdown of the Russian Ruble, the basic form of currency in Russia. After being struck, the kopeks were then meticulously sheared down so they didn't have more value than their worth.
